Lemon Creek Plaza
1990, 28’x29’x4’, Juneau, Alaska. Concrete, wood, boulders and plantings. Lemon Creek Plaza is an environmental plaza that is located in the State Penitentiary in Juneau, Alaska. This state prison has a long term inmate that is an expert in botany and is in charge of a large prison greenhouse. The plantings are a result of his recommendations and their upkeep is his responsibility. Under the large boulder is buried a time capsule with materials submitted by inmates and staff. The time capsule is scheduled to be dug up and opened in 2090.
